KidsThatRide.com Launch

Well I finally did. Put myself and my idea out there and see if there is anyone like me that needs this service. Please check it out post your "stuff" and see what happens. I already sold a wet suit! Here is a little bit about us:

KidsThatRide (KTR) started in the Spring of 2008. My daughter Bailey and her friend Cameron were having a sleep over at our house when they came to me and said they wanted to start a web site. They had all these great ideas about games they wanted to play on the site and contests that they could have. It was too cute! So, to entertain them, I logged onto www.godaddy.com to see if any of the names they liked were available. We went through about 20 names until one of them said, “What about Kids That Ride”??? Well, it was available so for $10.00 I bought it and they were happy with that.

As a mom I was constantly faced with the task of finding SAFE/AFFORDABLE gear for my child. She is very active and always wants to try new things. It is a challenge to keep up with her desire to explore new sports as well as upgrading her gear as she grows. I also needed a way of getting rid of practically new, now outgrown, gear.

In February of 2009 my husband was laid off and it was no longer affordable to replace her old gear, which she had now out grown. Dirt bike riding season was upon us and I needed to get creative. I started searching the internet for used gear and could not find any. We were relying on hand-me-downs from family and friends and passing our old stuff along as well. Garage sales were too time consuming as it was hit or miss.

It was then that I remembered kidsthatride.com I thought it could be the perfect forum for me and everyone else to find the affordable used gear we needed. It would also be a great way to “re-coupe” some of the money we had already spent on gear that had been tossed aside, but still had plenty of life left in it!! Kidsthatride.com fills not only a WANT, but a real NEED in today’s tight economic times.

As a mom I really focused on building a site that my daughter and her friends could go on and browse, compare, price-shop, and learn how to be smart shoppers.
